"Every bird has hit the road this morning, and everything you know will pass away."
.
Originally illustrated in India ink and inspired by my song of the same name, "Pass Away" is now available in a limited edition of one-hundred 11x17 screen prints on beautiful antique paper, signed and numbered by the artist.
.
The four types of paper (from the top down in the group pictures) include:
.
1) "Termites," which has a beautiful subtle blue tint, and is slightly gnawed upon by antique termites. (You can see the tiny holes in the second photo above.)
.
2) "Matte" is a heavy stock of smooth white paper with a clean finish.
.
3) "Textured" has a heavy texture and a manila color, just the sort of thing you think of when you say "cool old paper."
.
4) "Linen Gloss" has a beautiful, threaded, linen-looking finish, and the ink really shines.
.
(You can see the texture of all four papers, and how the ink behaved with them, very well in the third photo.)
.
The antique paper was generously donated by Drew Burk of Spork Press, and the prints were silk-screened by Jeik at Tanlines Printing, both here in sunny Tucson, AZ.
